Esprit de Trois Pierres Costières de Nîmes 2020
Description
A southern Rhône classic made from Grenache & Syrah grapes, with a touch of Mouvedre, harvested at optimum ripeness from old vines. This is a charming, warming red with mellow blackberry and red fruit flavours and a touch of pepper spice, and would be great served with pasta or grilled lamb marinated in fresh herbs.
Certifications
Thanks in part to the mistral, the dry summer and good vineyard management, most grapes are very healthy, have lots of sugar and importantly too good levels of acidity. We are expecting to have a good balance between abv and freshness. A heatwave in September has caused some of the vines to start to shut down but in the last couple of weeks of the month the temperatures, particularly at night, dropped to allow for a more normal end to the ripening period.
