Description

High-quality producer Cumulus’ vineyard is located in the Orange wine region 600m above sea level. The cool climate of the area produces elegant wines such as this one, which shows plum, dark cherry and blackberry fruits with hints of white pepper spice and dark chocolate. Excellent with lamb or duck with a rich fruity sauce.

Soil Type

soil - rich basalt derived volcanic soils over limestone. High elevation (600m above sea level), instense sunlight, cool climate, mild summers, cold winters. Continental climate with diurnal temperature change during growinf season. Majority of rainfall during winter & spring. North & north easterly facing slopes.

Viticulture

vine age = 20 years old. Vine density = 1667 / ha. Vines spur prunned & VSP trained

Maturation

Maturation in 100% french oak. 225L and 500L. 15% new barrel, remainder 1 year old, 2 year old & 3 year old oak. 12 months maturation in oak. No lees stirring or ageing on lees.
