Description

Colour - Bright golden hue with green edges. Aroma - Citrus & ripe stonefruits, with a hint nuttiness & toasty oak lift. Palate - Medium bodied, with white peach & lemon meringue, creamy, yeasty & softly textured, subtle & integrated oak supports & lifts the fruit, elegant tight acidity runs the length of the wine .

Viticulture

The vines were bilateral cordon trained and drip-irrigated. They were single cordon VSP and wire lifted. They were hand pruned and machine harvested.

Vinification

Picked mid-February. After gentle handling and pressing, the juice is cold settled, then racked, taking some juice solids into the ferment. 30% of the liquid was transferred to barrel for barrel fermentation, 70% remained in the tank for tank fermentation. Post ferment, both tank & barrels were kept on yeast lees and stirred fortnightly for several months. The wine was matured in oak for 10 months, prior to being racked and blended. BARRELS: 37% new oak, 63% 1 & 2 year old. 100% 300L French Oak Barrels
