Prior Terrae On The QT Bin 22 Blanc 75cl 2018

Pioneering winemaker Judit Llop Gasull produced this blend from her two-hectare plot of organically farmed Garnatxa Blanc. The beautiful mountainous area of Priorat is not famed for its white wines, but this sensational gem was too special to ignore. Wonderful complexity with peach, red apple, pineapple and citrus zest alongside nutmeg and butterscotch from the barrel ageing. Very well balanced with a long, rich finish.

The 2018 vintage started on our estate during the first week of September, a normal time for us. Broadly speaking, spring and summer 2018 were very positive for the development of healthy, balanced grapes. Spring brought much needed heavy rainfall returning our vineyards to a more balanced hydric condition following two years of intense drought. Overall summer was less hot than normal with fewer days of heatwave. There was hardly any rain in June and July, though much-needed rain in August brought relief to the vineyards allowing full ripening to follow its course.

Following a rigorous selection process in the vineyard, the grapes were de-stalked, crushed and pressed in a pneumatic press. After cold-settling the wine was partly fermented and matured in new French oak and partly in stainless steel.
