Description

Here we have a black-cherry coloured wine with medium depth and a deep robe. It is delicate and fresh on the nose, with an initial impression of red-berried fruit (such as blackberries), spicy notes such as cinnamon, and a touch of toasted nuances from the cask recalling cedarwood, vanilla pods and autumn leaves. After 16 months in American-oak vats and 36 months in mainly French-oak casks, you can appreciate the good work of the wood and its balanced integration with the fruit. On the palate, it is fresh and long with balanced acidity. The tannin is beginning to become polished in a delicious, elegant way. It is an open-hearted wine with a lot of potential for laying down. This wine can be paired with casseroles, meat dishes or just enjoyed on its own.

Total ageing: 36 months in oak and a minimum of 36 months in bottle before market release. The ageing relevant to Prado Enea is more complex and delicate. At the time we decide the ending of the maceration, the wine is poured in new oak barrels, every one of the grape varieties has a selected sort of oak from Nevers, Allier, Hungary, and so on..... Varietals remain separated till June, at that time we rack the wines to second use American oak. This second impact by the American oak, it is a more elegant and complex one when compared with the American brand new oak effects. The wine will remain for 9 months at this stage, and finally, for the very last 18 months, the wine will remain in neutral either French or American oak barriques (3 to 7 years old).
We look at a long ageing wine, a rarity in today's wine world. From the classical style wines, this wine maintains the elegance and finesse, but today's work at the winery and the vineyard selection allows to increase the ageing potential. The care, oxidation prevention and the sanitary conditions are not comparable with the wines made years ago.....
