Vilmart

Founded in 1890, by Desire Vilmart, the estate is run today by the 5th generation, Laurent Champs,. The 11 ha are all Premier Cru, with 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir. The average age of the vines is over 35 years and the oldest, over 60 years. Vilmart follows the Ampelos Charter, excluding any chemical fertilisers, herbicides and insecticides. The wines are aged in oak for 10 months, NV in foudre and vintage wines in barrel. There is no malo-lactic and the wines are given extensive time sur latte, prior to degorgement with further time to repose in the chalk cellars, before release.
