Schloss Johannisberg Riesling Grünlack Spätlese 2020
Description
A fine example of the purity and balance a Spätlese can produce. Pale golden yellow with greenish reflections. Complex aroma of exotic fruits such as fresh pineapple, and mango, as well as stone fruit such as nectarine and peach. Floral hints of white flowers. On the palate, rich body with the present aromas from the nose and a differentiated late harvest spiciness. Elegant and dense with racy acidity and well integrated sweetness.

Vineyard
Schloss Johannisberg
Soil Type
The totally south-facing vineyard is steep as 45° and climbs from 114 m to 181m above sea level. The forest on top of the Taunus protects the vineyards from cold winds from the North and in the South the Rhine lies like a lake in front of the estate. The 50° parallel runs directly through the vineyard and the unique soil formation with Taunusquarzit topped with loam and rich loess is perfect for mineral Rieslings as it retains both water and heat very well.
