Description

Kopke has always specialized in Tawny Ports which are an intrinsically Portuguese affair. Many of the vineyard owning families would lay down their best in large wooden "barrica" and leave them to gentyl mature in cask over many years.

Schist greywacke ante-Ordovician soil profile. The vineyards are dispersed along gentle slopes at horizontal levels as well as along the lines of greater slopes, called 'vinha ao alto'
