Monastrell from 50year-old bush vines planted at 750m above sea level and Syrah sourced from 15year-old trellis vines also planted in altitude. Both in limestone soils, very poor in organic sediment and continental weather conditions, with cold dry winters and hot equally dry summers.
Viticulture
A planting density of 1600 to 2700 vines per hectare for Monastrell and 2700/ha for Syrah. Pruning is short as well as low the yield, with 1500 to 2000kg per hectare.
