Description

With red berry fruits matched by savoury and subtly smoky notes on the nose, this lovely medium-bodied Santenay 1er Cru wine is round and fruity on the palate and nicely wrapped up in silky tannins. Drinking well already, but you could let it develop over the next five to seven years. The almost 5ha of Maladiere vineyard is spread on a rocky slope, steep and south-east facing, on a cracked limestone sub soil with a thin marl top soil. Vines are 45 y.o. on average. hand-harvesting - Yield 40 hl /ha - 100% destemming - again for 12 months with 30% new oak.
