Soil Type
The Marisco Vineyard soils in the Waihopai Valley are very complex soils with less fertility and uniformity than those of the northern side of the Wairau Valley. The climate has a bigger diurnal range, with warmer days and cooler nights. This combination of soils and climate allow us to produce classical styles of Sauvignon Blanc showing elegance and fruit purity. The low fertility of the soils allows us to control the vigour of our vines, and the complexity gives us the opportunity to have different aromatic and flavour profiles across the vineyard.
