Viticulture
This wine was sourced from fruit within the Wairau Valley sub-region of Marlborough. Free draining, fertile alluvial soils form the base to produce vigorous grapevines capable of producing grapes containing concentrated fresh fruit flavours. Warm days and cool nights assist with the flavour development and the retention of acid. The resulting wine is fresh, generous and intensely flavoured.
Vinification
Grapes were machine harvested and transported to the winery which is located in close proximity to the vineyards. Skin contact is minimised due to the speed the fruit reaches the winery and the fact that it is pressed off immediately. Following cold setting the juice was cool fermented in stainless steel tanks using yeast strains that had been carefully selected. The winemakers select each component carefully prior to being prepared for bottle.
