Description
Earthy aromas with dark fruits and spice. The rich and luscious palate displays flavours of bright ripe plum, dried herbs and tobacco leaf. A fruit driven style with a long savoury finish. A great match with saffron and tomato braised beef ribs.

Vinification
The wine was held cold for four days prior to fermentation; this aided extraction of flavour and enhanced colour stability. Inoculation enabled primary alcoholic fermentation; during this time the fermenting must was hand plunged up to four times daily. Once fermented the Syrah was pressed and then racked off gross lees to a mix of tank and seasoned French oak. The wine underwent 100% malolactic fermentation. Following ageing on light lees, the wine was fined and balanced and prepared for bottling.

Matured in stainless steel tank and French barrel while undergoing 100% fermentation
