Viticulture
The owner manages the entire vineyard by hand. Trained at Plumpton College, Sussex, with experience gained in other English vineyards prior to planting Beacon Down. Trelllised using Vertical Shoot Positioning. An Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach is adopted, ensuring optimum use of products, alongside extensive canopy management that ensures good airflow - reducing disease risk - and a balanced yield. Precise and regular foliar feeds from leaf analysis mean vines get timely and appropriate nutrition healthy throughout the long season resulting in high-quality grapes.
