Description

This organic Côtes du Rhône is made from a traditional Rhone blend of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Mourvèdre and has delicious flavours of red fruits such as cherry and raspberry with a touch of spice. This wine is from Gabriel Meffre’s signature range, selected to be typical of the appellation. Excellent with roast pork or shepherd’s pie.

Created in 1936 in Gigondas, Gabriel Meffre was known for his visionary approach in winemakeing and blending. 80 years later our winemakers continue his legacy by carefully selecting expressive grape varieties from the various parcels and blending them together to produce enjoyable full bodied wines. Our commitment to durable development has also incited us to launch extensions of Organic wines in all our ranges.This is a new wine in our Signature range. The 2015 vintage received the bronze Medal in the IWC Challenge in 2016.

Viticulture

The grapes have been planted and cultivated according to the rules of the organic agriculture and have been certified by Ecocert, an international organic certification agency.Vines between 30 - 50 years old.   Harvest - Syrah  - end of August. Grenache - mid september. A hot winter followed by a wet & windy spring.  Record heat in the end of August, that accelerated the maturity of the Syrah grapes. Rain in early september launched a new maturity cycle for the grenache    The Rhone valley benefits from a mediterranean climate with generally hot summers, regular mistral and rain during september.
