Somerby means 'summer house' in old Nordic which is a direct reference to the mild weather Somerby Vineyards enjoys; there has always been a warm micro climate in this area. Winemaker Edward Templeman BSc has worked in Alsace where he gained first hand experince of the great grand crus of France. Winemaking at Somerby is gentle, our red wines are made using old traditional techniques found in Burgundy France.

Open top Burgundy tanks, cap pushed down by hand three to four times a day.
