Description

An excellent Italian wine produced from Trebbiano grapes grown south of Lake Garda. It has a delicate floral bouquet, yet is rich with plenty of lively fresh fruit and depth of flavour. Enjoy on its own as an apéritif or with salads, white meats, pasta with seafood sauces, shellfish or lighter fish dishes. A firm favourite with Waitrose customers.

Last ten days of September and first ten days of October The very wet winter of 2015 enabled vines to access considerable deep-seated water reserves during the spring, aiding budding and flowering which lasted until the beginning of June. The particularly favourable climate during the summer ensured that all subsequent phenological stages, from fruit set to maturity, developed evenly. The hot temperatures in July were mitigated by some timely thunderstorms, while a sunny and quite breezy August allowed the grapes to reach a perfect phenolic ripeness. Harvest was helped by numerous sunny days, interspersed with only sporadic rainfall. 2015 is a lovely vintage with wines exhibiting balance, great structure and intense aromas.

Vinification

Gentle pressing and fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16-18°C. Refinement for 4-5 months in stainless steel tanks followed by 2-3 months in bottles before sale.
