Viticulture
Our goal is to increase the lifespan of our vines and to perpetuate our soils. We have invested in tools adapted to work the soil and eliminate the use of chemical weedkillers. We only use organic fertilizers to fertilize the land sparingly.
We take special care of our vines to prevent disease. Some plots are plowed by a draft horse, which allows greater aeration of the soil. We are doing curettage tests to extend the life of our vines affected by esca, a wood disease that cannot be cured.
We believe that the genetic diversity of the vineyard is very important. We are fortunate to have a plot planted by our grandparents in 1963, with plants from mass selection. Each plant is therefore unique: it has its own DNA. We can therefore select the most beautiful plants from this plot, take their wood during the winter, and entrust them to the nurseryman to graft them. We thus use these young plants for our plantations.
