Campbells On The QT Bin 28: 1998 Single Barrel Muscat 1998

This is an incredibly special wine, a single barrel of 1998 Muscat was found in a hidden cache at the back of the dusty cellar and 5th generation winemaker, Jules Campbell, was thrilled by her discovery. 1998 was an iconic vintage and this is an intense, treacly, unctuous wine the likes of which will never be seen again

The grapes are left late in the season to achieve optimum ripeness, ensuring maximum fruit flavour and a high degree of natural sweetness.

Harvested late in the season at 24 baume (43 Brix), crushed and cold soaked on skins for 5 days to extract maximum sweetness and flavour. Pressed and fortified with ultra-premium grape spirit to 19 baume and 17.5% alcohol. This wine subsequently matures in barriques over many years further concentrating the flavour and sweetness to 22 baume.
